Hello and welcome to Godshots, where Kiyoshi and Gardoni talk about coffee-making and their weekly espresso brewing meet-ups.

please, don’t rate my rosetta

firstrosetta
If you’ve ever visited rate my rosetta, you would have a very good idea of how crappy my latte art is. I keep struggling with the milk texture, as I get the feeling my eurpiccola doesn’t exactly have the air pressure necessary for the microfoam used in the beautiful pours I see on that page.

I also have trouble with the size of my foaming mug, which is the standard 20oz stainless steel type. I get the feeling that it’s a little big for the size of the shots I want to make on my machine. The europiccola makes really, really small double shots, or say, a well served single shot. And trying to properly foam the amount of milk I need for my shots has proven a challenge on the 20 oz’er.
mini tulip
I did manage to pull a freak accident mini tulip inside a demitasse today though, which had me really excited. If only I knew what I did right so I could do it again! (I did try, but it was a dissapointment). Gardoni made a comment today, saying something like: “Latte art is a months-long learning curve” and he’s probablly right. At least it’s been that way for both of us.
